When Mama was young it was just her and her mom (my Mema) at home. Money was extremely tight.
There wasn’t money for Christmas gifts, but at church Mama would get a treat bag with fruit, candy and nuts. That was her gift, she looked forward to it every year.
When she got to a place financially where she could help others, she would buy gifts for a needy family. She said she never wanted a child to wake up Christmas morning without a gift. I hope to continue this in her memory.
