5/3/1939 – 12/25/1995 Thomas Nicholson – My dad was a quiet gentle giant with a heart of gold. He found great joy in helping others, and that included animals. I remember coming home from school one day to find daddy had rescued a wounded pigeon. He nursed that pigeon back to health then released him. If he could help anyone he surely would.

I am grateful for many things, but I am most grateful that in his lifetime, my dad taught me to love and to serve God. I remember fighting with my cousin one evening over the telephone. Dad hung up the phone (on my cousin’s girlfriend), cut off the tv and made us study our Sunday School Lesson. (smile)

I miss shopping trips with my dad and just our quiet times together. On one of our trips from the doctor’s office to home, I remember we were both in deep thought. I turned to look at dad and said, “I love you, to which he responded, “I love you too baby.” I will treasure that moment for the rest of my life. I always knew my dad loved me, but there was something very special about that moment.

Dad, “I Love You!”

Love always your baby girl Angela
